Michael Hartogs, Former Qualcomm Senior Vice President Joins Acorn Technologies Board of Advisors

LA JOLLA, Calif., August 20, 2015 – Acorn Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of performance scaling semiconductor and mobile computing innovations, today announced that Michael Hartogs, former Senior Vice President of Qualcomm, has joined Acorn’s advisory board. Mr. Hartogs is a leading patent licensing, legal and business development executive with extensive knowledge and experience in the telecommunications industry. Mr. Hartogs will help Acorn Technologies bring its IP cores and semiconductor process technology to global semiconductor and chip design companies for next-generation mobile and wireless devices.

Michael D. (Mike) Hartogs is the former senior vice president and lead counsel for Qualcomm’s Technology Licensing (QTL) division. Mr. Hartogs spent 12 years as the lead lawyer for Qualcomm’s patent licensing business and headed the legal team involved in all of Qualcomm’s 3G and 4G licensing activities, which now is one of the most successful patent licensing businesses in the world. He was also a key advisor for many of Qualcomm’s non-licensing strategic transactions and acquisitions. In addition, Mr. Hartogs served as a company spokesman involved in advocacy matters relating to technology licensing before government agencies in the U.S., Asia and Europe.
